Twisted Blues

This is basically "Twisted" by Lambert Hendricks and Ross, without the chorus. Not sure why but I still can't seem to make the chorus work on this tune. I think it's that I can't sing it. Anyway, it's just a blues in G.

B Flat - my kinda key

This is something that I've been fooling around with for a while. Just B flat with a modulation to D flat and E flat then back.

Scotch and Soda

I'm in Fredericksbug Texas for the day

I'm in Frederisksburg, TX for the Memorial weekend to celebrate and reflect on all the courage, selflessness and love for the United States of American. I thank all the soldiers that have given me freedom.

Tuneburg's "Killer App"

I attended an event yesterday that helped put a lot of things in perspective for me. It was called "Drinks and Drupal" and it was organized by Lynn Bender, of "Geek Austin" fame.

The Recent Outage

Well the recent service outage was a lesson on a lot of levels. Now I actually KNOW where the server resides (It's in Seattle). On the other hand, the blissfull ignorance that went along with a trouble-free system has something to recommend it.

I'm probably going to be upgrading the hosting plan rather than moving to another service; rather the devil you know more than anything else.

I'll let you know when it's done.

Trade Show Junk

Weird,

I was just getting dressed to run some errands, and decided to wear some trade show tee-shirt that happened to be on the top of the heap. Then I grabbed a hat.

Then I realized that in the entire heap of hats and tee-shirts, there wasn't a single one that anybody would recognize. Half the companies are out of business, and the other half are in areas so esoteric and weird that just explaining what they do is quite an exercise.

Howdy

First blog post!

Sound Quality and my "home studio"

Well,

After a couple of hours playing around and trying to get my levels right one thing is clear; the "out of the box" experience that I get with my Toshiba notebook as a recording studio leaves much to be desired.

The original setup was essentially to run the line out from my practice amp into the mic input of the notebook.

That would have been the easiest from the standpoint of recording one track, then playing it back in the monitor while recording another.
